Beautiful glass artworks produced by very skilled craftspeople. The gallery showcases many beautiful glass vessels with different colors, textures, and styles on varied forms. We were able to catch the first glassblowing demonstration of the day on Sunday starting at 10:30 am. We were shown the full progress of blowing and shaping a skirted glass plate. The demo took about 45 minutes in total and was fascinating to watch.

We did not know or intend to spend the morning at the shop. When we pulled in we thought wow it's so busy. As it turns out it's the 30 year anniversary and they were celebrating in good style! Beautiful as always. and the ornaments for the pearl anniversary are really lovely. Definitely going to get one. Should have taken a picture.

Simply, a nice place to visit if you're in the area. I got there in the morning to see some glass art in the making. The presentation was informative and appealing. He made a wonderful vase in under 30 minutes (worth $250).

If you are anywhere near here I recommend adding Wimberly Glassworks to your day! The showroom has an amazing selection of beautiful artwork, practical household light fixtures, and decor. As if that wasn't reason enough, the Hot House glass working area is a real treat. We stayed for forty minutes watching a custom glass piece being made by the artisans and would do it again. It's that engaging.

Such a fun family experience! Tim had us in stitches and his assistant Nicholas politely answered all of our questions. It was a cold day today but we stayed cozy inside! I really appreciated how understanding Tim was of children and made appropriate jokes and encouraged them at the end to challenge themselves and do great things in the world. I love his glass wildflower collection! Totally worth the visit. Thanks, y'all!

This place has gorgeous glass works and a glass blowing demonstration while you are there. I love blown glass. Definitely not cheap but gorgeous works of art to take home. None of Tim's pieces are sold wholesale and all of the pieces are one of a kind each piece comes out different each time a piece is blown. It takes almost 2 days for a piece to be created. Mine is the one in the picture.

Your classic boutique glass blowing business with unexpected pieces. Pretty neat place, good location, beautiful pieces, wonderful staff.looks like a lot of fun for the locals too. However generally places like these are out of my price range of what I can spend on glassware.

Tim de Jong and Staff are doing a rare public service a la Chihuly with patience for newbie questions and starter details. I do remember my first visit to their "first" Site!

Very enjoyable experience for family to watch glass blowing in action. It was engaging enough to keep the 4 year old actively watching. The room was warmer than the outside in a Texas summer, which gives you an idea why they sell shirts saying "I survived the heat" front row was the place to be with the blowers going it kept the heat manageable. Pricing was normal for what I have seen with other glass blowing artisans. Staff was very friendly. Masks are currently optional.

Love, love this place. The day we stopped here we were the only customers. Even so everyone had their masks on. We went back and watched a light fixture being made - absolutely amazing! We chatted with the artisans for several minutes after they finished the piece they were creating. Very courteous, informative, and answered all our questions. We purchased gifts for ourselves & our children and asked them to package and mail the gifts to our kids.

Well they have all received their hand blown glass gifts and all arrived safely with NO cracks, chips or breakage! The shipping charge was very reasonable, too. Can hardly wait to return!

Beautiful place. Loved the demonstrations. No reservation needed. Early birds will have a good start. Buying souvenirs is a good way to support the business. An ancient art yet still mesmerizing. A must visit. And if anyone wants to have something unique made out of glass. They do contracts as well.

I guess there were duplicate listings at some point, so I've pasted my original from the closed page below. Since that posted visit I have purchased a cobalt tree ornament in-store for my ma's (2018?) xmas gift, a trio of colorful eggs shipped straight to her for Easter, and I just finished ordering a blown glass pumpkin (shipping to her rural address again) for her upcoming autumn birthday.

The eggs arrived perfectly sound and I have every expectation the pumpkin will too.* I like they take care with the protective packaging as much as they do every detail in the store and studio. They're nice people offering unique, quality products and I order from them with confidence. * it did arrive safe! ------ (Originally posted ca 2017) I've been a fan a long time.

Beautiful pieces in a lot of different styles over the years and I wish I could buy them all. You will find tableware, jewelry, vases, night lights, ornaments, window accents, hummingbird feeders, and soooo many lighting fixtures. You will see portraits of huge contract pieces installed for giant corporations who can afford to impress (and you can certainly spend as much as you want on some beautiful smaller works) but that is balanced with affordable ($30 or less) pieces in the gallery and free demonstrations to visitors. I've also been to some of their open houses in the past; they just seem like excellent members of the hill country community.

Owner is super friendly (of course he is; he's originally Canadian) and free with the dad-quality jokes. Think about this--not only does he have the AC bill to pay, he also pays to keep the two thousand degree furnace running in the next room and smiles while he tans in its heat, taking familiar questions from strangers. That's some next-level zen.

If you attend a free glassblowing demonstration in summer, I recommend getting some cold water at the desk (it's only a buck) for your small kids and elders. I'm healthy and under fifty but wasn't dressed for the heat and was starting to get woozy. It is art, entrepreneurship, history, education, entertainment, and definitely worth a visit if you find yourself driving on old RR12.

Tim made us a vase and it was amazing. The whole process was really cool and enjoyable. He also gave us a brief history about glass and talked us through the process while he was making the vase. I highly recommend this for anyone!

Came here for a demo, and the employees were super friendly and great at explaining the different steps of the process. This is a beautiful shop/gallery and definitely worth checking out on your trip to Wimberley!

We were able to watch the process (free of charge!) and see how glass items are made. The presentation was well given. There was a question and answer time at the end. After completing an entire piece, the glassworkers then joined and mingled with the "guests" in the gift shop offering additional opportunities for questions and conversation. The gift shop is not a place for small children. Prices are high, but all is handmade originals. An enjoyable visit.

My partner had been here before and wanted to show me this place. It is a fantastic experience to watch the demos how those beautiful and colorful glass pieces come into existence under Tim's (the founder) careful hands. You can take home glass roses, plates, vases, jewelries and hummingbird feeder with you. If you are around please have a look! I decided to take earrings and pendants home with me so I can wear them every day.

We stopped in on a whip on our way out of town. We lucked out and caught a "glass blowing" session just as it was starting. Super cool stuff! Much more interesting than I had anticipated. Would love to go back! Blown glass is not cheap FYI!

What a treat to spend a bit of time with true craftsmen. Don't miss the demo--in addition to being insanely knowledgeable, it's evident the artisans love what they do. Of course, the works are incredible. But even better if you watch them in action!

REACH homeschool co-op field trip today. My son and his friends had a blast. Very educational. Great skill to gain interest in for my little fire starter. Something useful to put his hands to some day. He can go from building in the fireplace to playing with molten glass someday if he likes. Great idea to have a viewing area, way to promote the arts and education! The gentleman that tan the demonstration was very patient, funny and full of fun facts for our audience.

We stopped by on a whim and did not regret it! The demo was so cool to watch and he gave just enough history to interest you, but not enough to bore you. The demo was free and definitely worth the drive. We left with a couple pieces and wished we would have gotten a couple more. Super cool place!

Down a long and winding road i found myself at Wimberley Glassworks. This art studio and store can be found in a somewhat modern building structure. When you 1st walk in you will see the show room with many amazing glass art pieces. You will find anything from lighting fixtures to little pendants to add to a necklace. It's amazing to see the process to complete a blown glass piece of art.

They do a great job of explaining each step. I really fell this is a great place to take a family with teens/ preteens. They show the customers all the steps that goes in to making a piece of glass art. I will admit I found myself a little shocked at the prices of these art pieces until I realized how much work went in to them. If your in the area and have an interest in this art form it is worth stopping by.

The glass is just beautiful here. If I were rich, I would deck out my house with their stuff. The quality and beauty are phenomenal, and everything is very unique. The only downfall is cost.you must pay for beauty. I wish they would add more items at a lower price point to the inventory, I'd love to have more pieces in my home.

If you don't want to feel like you're melting, then do yourself a favor and come here when it's either cold or at least cooler outside! That's exactly what my family & I did and we were thankful for it. The owner and his assistant were great - there was a lot to learn and watch in the glass-making arena. They did keep it interesting by talking to the audience (the area they work in has a seating/viewing space) and at the time I last went there were plans displayed for their next projects.

If you do happen to go in the warmer temps, there are signs posted that bottled water is available for purchase. After the exhibition, everyone is shuffled into the store area to browse and/or purchase some of their works. Pretty pricey too of course but exceptionally beautiful. Did you find the betta (fish) btw?

Gorgeous gallery and excellent spot to learn about how high-end glassblowing works. Definite recommend on Highway 12 up towards Wimberley. I found the displays of glass art to be excellent, and I've seen many galleries with glasswork product, from Santa Fe to Laguna Beach. Be sure to take the time to watch one of the many demonstrations of the art by the glassblowers. Pro Tip: stop by the cashier to get a $1 bottle of icy cold water, as it can get hot in the demo room!

If there's any shortcoming with the gallery, it's just that you have to be pretty well heeled to take home one of their works of art. I don't blame them for the price point - the artistry is top-notch! Definite recommend!

We live in Wimberley and Wimberley Glassworks is a must see on our itinerary when we show our out of town guests the sights. The glassblowing demonstration is fascinating. As mentioned by others, the pieces are expensive, but all are hand blown, unique pieces of art and gorgeous. You won't buy something here, only to get home and find a "made in China" sticker on the bottom.

I hope you will visit Wimberley Glassworks and then continue on RR 12 to the Village of Wimberley. Yes, the Memorial Day flood this year (2015) was major, but the stores and restaurants are open for business and Wimberley was just named a Cultural District by the Texas Commission on the Arts! Come get your art on!

We've visited glass blowers all over the country and have never seen more beautiful art glass. Tim DeJong, the "head gaffer" (and I believe the owner), gives a running commentary as he blows the most amazing pieces - all well out of my price range. An interesting tidbit - it costs $650 an hour to run the room with the furnaces where the magic happens. Another learning - glass has a memory. It remembers the shape where it's been heated and chilled. Who knew!
