Lux Lighting Design is a full service lighting design company dedicated to providing the ultimate in creative and functional designs for residential and commercial projects. Custom lighting designs are produced with the client's needs foremost. Interior and outdoor lighting designs are created with unity of the project's appearance in mind.
The first stage begins with a review and analysis of full architectural plans to determine important architectural features that should be highlighted. Meetings with the client(s) are important to include discussion of preferences and aversions, visual acuities, usage of each space, impressions that are desired, "feelings" that each area is to evoke, exterior lighting requirements, and other details that may be relevant to the project.
As owner of Lux Lighting Design, I am interested to provide lighting design services for your project since quality lighting is an important aspect. Lighting designers can be a unique, value-added resource. We can design energy efficient lighting designs that will provide appropriate light levels with appealing aesthetics.

A horrible business that lacks integrity. In April of 2022, I noticed a $454.54 charge on my American Express for Lux Lighting Design in Belmont, Mass. I had no idea what this charge was, so I called and spoke to the Manager at Lux, and she informed me that this charge was for the shipping charges from Houston to Dave Lindbergh in Atkinson, New Hampshire.
The multiple packages of home lights were received on 4/22/2022 at 11:45 am. The Manager at Lux Lighting stated that she had no idea how or why she used my credit card number. "Perhaps somehow I inverted a number from my American Express, and maybe our two account numbers were very similar." OK, fair enough, it could happen. So I disputed the charge, and the $454.54 were reversed.
If this were the end of the story, it would be no harm, no foul. Fast forward to June when I received a letter from American Express that Lux Lighting insisted that my credit card was the correct card to charge. The correspondence showed all the delivery receipts, including the waterfront home address of the delivery in New Hampshire and their paperwork stating "bill third party for shipping" with my credit card number. Avoid at all costs!

Doreen at Lux Lighting was a total joy to work with when we updated the lighting of our Victorian home! We appreciated her considerable expertise, professionalism, responsiveness, creative suggestions, and attention to detail. Our home used to be rather dark, but has now been beautifully transformed. We will definitely be calling Doreen again when we start our next home renovation.

I am a Landscape Designer and have been working with Doreen for years on my outdoor lighting projects. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional and a pleasure to work with. My clients have been thrilled with the results. Doreen can design and supply whatever the project requires. The best part is she can handle both the interior and exterior for a seemless result. Lighting is so important to bring a landscape to life. You will be so glad you hired the right professional. Mary LeBlanc, Owner, Mary LeBlanc Landscape Design

I worked with Doreen to figure out a new lighting plan for two uniquely shaped rooms in a residential condo. Doreen was very helpful in developing options and making suggestions that looked good and did a much better job lighting the space. She was always on time and did a great job managing the project, from purchasing the materials to overseeing the installation. I would recommend her to anyone considering a lighting project.

I have hired Doreen of Lux Lighting Design for many years for three of my residential projects in the US, two of which received awards for Excellence in Design. She is knowledgeable and current on all aspects of lighting and lighting controls, and is very easy to work with. I highly recommend Lux Lighting Design.

I do not recommend working with Doreen and Lux Lighting. She is incompetent, insulting, condescending, and opportunistic. She downloaded a picture from the internet and charged a "design" fee. She downloaded the specs of fixtures printed onto her letterhead and charged a fee even though she never discussed the fixtures with us. She drew elaborate drawings which again she never discussed and charged a "design" fee.
She retroactively charged for her interview time. She exploits best business practices and is not registered with Better Business Bureau. Following her insulting and suggestive emails, I asked her to file a suit so we can resolve the invoice that she made up after I fired her and she did follow through. Unfortunately, I learned from my attorney later that even if the court decided that I owe $1 instead of $2,000 she fabricated, it would still be registered as a judgement against me. Following his advise, I paid her fabricated invoice in full. Unless you are an attorney, do not work with her!
