It started out great, Paul would respond almost immediately until I sent my deposit to him in July, come delivery time in September I was told it was delayed due to all the supply issues. I waited until the end of October and was told the order was ready and he would call back. I never received a call back and now my calls are sent to voicemail. I have tried Paul's cell, the business number, Paul's email, the business email and texts.
No response. I wish I would have done more research into the company as the State of Missouri had sued and put a lean on Animated lighting in 2016 for the same issues. Now I get to wait to hopefully get my $2500 back.

We were using this company and PAID for items that were never delivered. The lighting was purchased for a holiday charity event that gives back to animals and the community. The owner stopped responding and still currently we cannot get ahold of them for a refund. Really sad when it was for charity and we lost money we cannot get back:

This company has stolen money from our charity. In September we placed an order for a Christmas fundraiser we are hosting. They shipped out half of it in October but told us that they were too busy with Halloween too send the rest and that it would be shipped out the first week of November. They guaranteed we would have it. We have been calling 5-10 times a day since and it is the 30th of November. I hope someone will read this review and won't loose their money the way our charity has. Disgusting individuals.

The worst company I've ever dealt with. They steal money, don't ship products already paid for, don't return calls, won't repair defective products, etc. Paul Smith, the owner is only nice on phone until he gets your credit card info, then watch out! He changes to his true self and will randomly cuss you out when you inquire about any problem. This has been going on with this company for years!
Better business gives them an "F" rating with a dozen fraud accusations. Yelp gives them a 1 star rating with similar stories. Only Google gives them a higher rating because of a few shill ratings by obvious friends or employees five years ago. That's why I've decided to chime in with my review. I had to convert almost my AL equipment to light a Rama and have never looked back at this sleazy company or owner.
By the way, all the major halloween and Christmas forums have very low opinion of this company too and talk of similar problems going back years. There's better alternatives out there, you've been warned!

Terrible customer service. I have five light controllers that I have been trying for years to get to talk to one another but can't. I have fought with them, given up, then gone back to them when my temper goes down. Many, many emails to them don't get returned. Phone calls don't get answered and messages are simply ignored. Poor, poor post sales service.
The problem is that I live in Canada and have no recourse. I truly wish that I had chosen another company. Unfortunately, I now have all this equipment that I can't get to work properly. I continue to try and I continue to hunt the forums for answers. I might put it all on eBay and start with another company's product. Any suggestions as to who makes a better product?

This company has the worst sales and customer service from any retail store I have ever experienced. The owner Paul cursed at me on the phone because I was asking for more information about the products I was looking to spend $4-5k on. I would strongly encourage people to avoid them and take a look at their other negative reviews on Yelp.

Turn and run. These guys are crooks. Planned a project with Paul and paid him a down payment. He quit answering phone calls and emails. When I did get through on the phone they took my name and number and promised to get back to me but never did. In the end after waiting for weeks and weeks I realized they weren't going to get back to me so I went to Wow Lights who was amazing and saved me even though I was now in a serious time crunch. Animated lighting never did send me my stuff and wouldn't refund me my deposit. I ended up having to go to visa to report them in order to get my money back. Horrible experience.

These guys really do just take your money and never return your phone call. My father and neighbor have an elaborate christmas light show and trusted these sleazy scumbags to send them displays and upgrade a control box. Despite being paid for in full and countless emails and phone calls and voicemails from both my father and neighbor, the company never responded and stole $2000 from my neighbor and never delivered the goods.
But don't just trust my word-- this has happened to others. The company has an F rating on the Better Business Bureau. "Worst customers service I agree, paid for 2 controllers back in January 2015, it is now sept. Still no product that I paid for, 10 phone calls, 3 emails to Owner Paul Smith no reply, I have 2 other friends same situation." "I have to agree with others regarding customer service.
We paid for our Singing Reindeer in September and they shipped partials starting the beginning of November until the third week in December. We still have not received the final controller we paid for. When I have gotten a response, there answer is how buried they are. Then put on more staff or refund our $$. They won't have to worry about being busy next year with this level of service. RUN-AWAY!
