Leopoldo "Polo" Gomez is a classic Mexican success story. Born and raised in a tiny mountain village in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico he came to work in Santa Fe in 1952 at the invitation of Tony Taylor, founder of The Old Mexico Shop. This year, Polo and his family celebrated the 25th anniversary of his own shop, the world renowned Artesanos Imports.
No, there is no need for a final coat of sealer on the tile but you do need to seal the grout joints upon installation. The lights can be ordered in a pewter finish, an oxidized finished and a shiny tin finish. If you took a handful of change, the pewter is comparable in color to a nickel, a penny is the oxidized finish and a dime is the shiny tin finish.

Extremely rude "owner/manager." He's a real jerk. Spent over $400 dollars at this place. Went back during a sale and thought ALL the tiles I selected were part of it. When I didn't get the discount on all of them I asked. Decided not to get the tiles that weren't on sale. Before I could even say I would get the sale tiles, he snatched them out of my box and put them on a desk. The dude is a major prick. Will never shop here again.

I wish we had known of this place years ago. We have a Santa Fe style home (not in Santa Fe) and always struggled to find appropriate tile and trim locally. This place has an expansive collection and super helpful staff. Our outdoor tile feature came out great and the recommendations of the staff were spot on. They will be on my favorites for future renovation projects.

Bad first impression. No respect for customers. I hate when places close early! It was 10 minutes before the posted closing time! Two people inside and looked at me and shook their head no. I knew exactly what I needed, but they wouldn't open the door or even come close enough to talk. Made me feel unimportant as a customer. This was my first time there and it was aggravating. I'll think twice about going back.

During the Covid-19 pandemic I found this business to be very helpful and supportive. I was pleased they had everything I needed to seal my slate floors myself. Heidi was nice in delivering my products to the trunk of my car with no problems. This place doesn't pop-up for floor care products, but is should. They're great!

I travel to Santa Fe often and never visit without stopping by Artesanos! They have an amazing and unique selection of all things design. The owners are very hands on and super sweet. Being an out of town client is easy. They have great communication and my products always arrive perfectly. I can't say enough positive things about this company. MUST READ! I am truly impressed with the customer service and variety of products Artesanos has to offer. We wanted to update our kitchen with a more modern style but didn't know where to start (my husband and I have little to no design talents). We visited a few large tile stores and were left overwhelmed and completely defeated by the lack of customer service. Heidi was an angel!
