When Todd Pearsall came up with the name for his boutique lighting showroom more than 10 years ago, he liked the simplicity. Filament: A single thread or strand made incandescent by electric current. Today, the thread that lights the fire under Pearsall is the creativity he brings to the customers whose lives he illuminates.

Todd and his employees are the very best. Very large and unique selection of lights. We live in Washington DC and have a summer home in Rehoboth Beach, DE. We have a very large dining room table in our beach home and we needed a a statement piece to really accent our dining room. We sent pictures and dimensions to Todd and he immediately sent us back several potential chandeliers.
We chose a beautiful piece that was exactly what we had been looking for. It was shipped and at our front door within 3-5 days. One of the small globes had cracked in transit. We notified Todd and a replacement was shipped the next day. We could not be more happy with the product and customer service. Would highly recommend without reservation. Thanks again Todd and Filament lighting!

The quality of the product and showroom are beautiful, however, the customer service didn't mirror the product. We are still waiting on an order that was placed over two months ago and have received unclear communication as to when the items will ship. Granted the items were on back order for the first month and we understood this at the time of purchase.
The items are now in stock at the warehouse on the east cost and available to ship. When they will ship is the question and I was told by Benson "they aren't sure when they will ship". Benson's tone in our communications reflected a no care not my problem attitude. We have paid a lot of money for a product, waited the back order time and now would like a ship date or time frame.
Buyer beware when ordering items from this company. When looking at the team profiles on their website, I read that Benson has over 20 years of customer service experience. My interactions with Benson didn't reflect an individual with an extensive customer service background. Instead I have been treated as though I am wrong for wanting clear communication as to when my product will ship.

I had purchased online new Feist lighting for a remodeled kitchen and downstairs bath. I also ordered dimmable LED bulbs. Once installed, they produced a cold, flat, very unappealing shade of blue. I didn't want to buy more bulbs sight unseen. Specifically, I needed G4 bi-pin 3-5W LEDs. I went to Target, Home Depot, Lowes and Menard's. Little to no selection.
I then thought of the cool, independent lighting store a few blocks West of the Mann Cinema in Hopkins. Alas, it had gone out of business. Enter Filament. I drove over with low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they carried a variety of G4 bulbs in different wattages and tones. The fellow I worked with, (sorry, forgot his name), swapped out several into fixtures similar to mine until I saw exactly what I was looking for.
They were warm, bright and cast an attractive, room enhancing glow. They also dimmed smoothly with no flickering or buzzing. Perfect! I also found some great battery operated LED lights that could highlight a couple of oil paintings in my home. I ended up not buying them (they were on the pricey side). But down the road, when I might be feeling a bit flush, I may return for them.

I placed an order at the store on May 29, but the light wasn't ordered until June 6. I was told at the time of my order that it would take 2-4 weeks for delivery. A delay of more than a week before my order was placed is inexcusable! If I have to order light fixtures (which in most cases at Filaments, you do), I can get it faster online. I try to give smaller stores the business, but one often gets poor service.

There are definitely some beautiful, unique lights here. I did not look at price tags so I cannot comment. It's not a very big store it took me about three minutes to walk through it and determine there was nothing there for me. I am looking for colored lights and there was one that was red, but otherwise it's mostly silver and neutral. There was one woman on the phone at a desk who did not make eye contact with me and then I realized there was another woman who was on a computer.
No one greeted me when I walked in. I remembered another reviewer said they do online orders so I thought they might have more than just what was on display, especially different color options of models on display. I got the woman's attention and asked her if there was more than was displayed. She sort of looked at me like that was a dumb question and said "no." Bye Filament, won't be back.

This is one of the most unprofessional organizations that I have ever had to deal with. We placed an order online and they charged my credit card right away but did not contact us regarding when our order would ship. I called the next day and their rep said they would have someone look into it and call me back. No one calls that day or the next. I send an email the following day, and they respond that my items are in stock and that they would email me "as soon as it ships with the tracking number".
Six days later and still no update. I send an email and the response is "we are a lighting showroom with a small website. We are not Amazon, and cannot ship or respond as fast as large internet companies as such. We will do our best for you though." 18 days after placing the order, we canceled the order because there was still no information regarding when it was going to ship.
Total count of 5 emails and 4 phone calls. If you don't care at all about when your order is going to ship or how long it will take to receive your order and receive no information about this throughout the ordering process, then by all means use Filament. Otherwise, I would recommend any other possible choice.

Todd and his associates were amazing at helping me find the perfect lighting for my home. They worked with my budget (and even found solution that were under what I spent!) and found creative solutions to address my needs. I shopped around the Twin Cities and Filament, by far, has the most stylish lighting. They can also order from a bunch of different lighting companies too.
I didn't purchase any home products but they do stock some amazing pieces. So my tip to you.instead of going to Macys or Crate & Barrel check out Filament and get something unique. They have a range of styles for all budgets PLUS you'll love the personable service.

You'll wanna buy a house to fit in as many light fixtures as possible. This place has renewed my faith in lighting. You may even want to decorate a room around these. The customer service is great, and there are usually a couple of staff members to help you. I like how it's in the small Miracle Mile strip mall to avoid a lot of traffic. I live near a couple of popular lighting places and I'll always come out here.
Some of the display models are on sale. One was sold and I wonder if it was one of a kind. They also have some home decorating items. I bought 4 tapered candles for a dollar each.

We built a new house and did not put builder grade lighting in. I went to 5 of the biggest lighting places in the suburbs and found rude people, high prices and not a customer service experience that I wanted. I then found Filament Lighting, WOW! I am so impressed, I worked with Dan and he was so helpful. And not to mention they had the best prices in town! Win, win for me. I highly recommend this place, they would get more stars if I could;-
