Services
Lightworks was started as a hobby business by Charles and Kathryn Dailey in 1997. We began our little venture by repairing and restoring antique and vintage light fixtures. When we secured an account from a national restaurant chain in 1999, our hobby turned into a full-fledged business. Our first rented space was on the fourth floor of the 100-year-old Rock Island Building (now Security Lofts Building) located in the historic NorthLoop warehouse district in downtown Minneapolis. As our business grew, we added our first employee, the remarkable Eric.
Customize your light fixture from Lightworks by choosing a shade from our shade collection or choose from a vast selection of art glass panels or silver or amber mica. Remember, the color and style of shade you select can significantly change the look of your fixture. Also, the size of the shade must match the shade holder on the fixture.

I needed a floor lamp repaired that had been disassembled during a move. Kathryn responded quickly to my message and we made an appointment to drop the lamp off. Charles was able to repair the lamp, which it turned out, had a missing piece. I'm not sure any other shop would have had the tenacity or taken the time to help me and I so appreciate that they did. And I greatly appreciate the detailed care they take to help keep us safe during the COVID pandemic. Thanks!

They were recommended to me by residents on a local Facebook group. I'm happy I stopped by, for no other reason than they had two vintage school house style lights, at a reasonable price, that fit well in our house. They were also reasonable for rewiring and adding mounting hardware for two vintage pendant lights we have, and will get a 3rd light when I get to it. Not to mention their reproduction light prices seemed reasonable. They are worth a stop if you're looking for new/different/custom lights or need any rewired.

Lightworks is the real deal. We had some vintage lights rewired and bought some lovely antique shades in the process. We have more lights to rewire and more shades to replace, so we will be back. Excellent curated collection if you need period lighting for your home. And the service is second to none. These folks are a delight and it's clear they love what they do. All the stars for Lightworks and we will be back soon!

Recently worked with Lightworks on a small but special lighting project for my home. They were helpful from beginning to end, meeting my high expectations with their expert and experienced knowledge, exceptional inventory, and thoughtful integrity. Their prices were completely in line with the high quality, and outstanding stock. If you value expertly and qualified Underwriter coded wiring, timely service, unique fixture fittings and lights, this is the place to go.
They also do custom work, and can design or modify just about any light - from modern, and reproduction to treasure antiques. This is a gem of a small business, and I will work with them again.

Light works is Truly an amazing place! Not only are the owners and staff welcoming, kind, helpful, and talented, but the work they do is incredible! We renovated an old hone & every light fixture was either repaired, reworked, wired, restored, acquired, or created by Light Works! ALL OTHER lighting stores in MN rejected the work I needed done but lightworks accepted every challenge and excelled in every expectation we had! LOVE them!
