After spending over $24,000 on just the light fixtures, not the installation, for a home renovation that I was doing. this company will not honor the warranty. Working with Dave Shephard, the owner, directly there's a 5 year warranty on the 10 fixtures installed on my deck totaling $5300. A month ago David Shephard told me he had ordered new fixtures in solid brass and the problem wouldn't occur in solid brass.
After messaging him yesterday he told me the fixtures were in stock and he was going to arrange delivery. When I called I was told the fixtures are not in stock. nothing has been ordered, and that fixture doesn't even come in brass. Then I messaged Dave Shephard directly asking him why he lied to me and lead me on for a month. he nothing at all was done to replace the damaged fixtures.
He sent me back emoji. Who does that? Certainly not the owner of a reputable company. He message me back-and-forth weekly for a month telling me that everything was ordered everything will be resolved the fixtures are coming in there solid brass lying to me the entire time. Save yourself the stress and frustration and run from this horrible company.

Martin and team are amazing.great product knowledge, design to budget, and they really come thru when the project hits snags that have nothing to do with them.but they step up with solutions and jump thru hoops to make things happen. As a design professional I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.because I know they have me covered in all ways.design, knowledge, great prices, and timely response to my and my clients needs. Can't say enough about what a great group to work with.a pleasure in all ways. Thank you Martin and team,

I am posting this review to recognize the exceptional service I received at Tazz Lighting. I had been searching, for several months, for two vanity lights for a bathroom remodel. I had purchased four lights from another store and had to return all of them because of poor quality. I ordered two more lights from another store, even though they were on backorder for 4 weeks; the promised delivery date then was again postponed for at least 2 more weeks.
By now, the remodel was done, except for the lights. I went to Tazz Lighting on Miramar Road thinking it was a showroom. When I explained my dilemma they sent David out. He listened to my needs, and my frustration, and used his 25+ years of experience to find me beautiful lights that could be delivered within a week's time. He, and Roxie and Samaria at the front desk, spent almost 2 hours with me that day, checking out multiple sources for lighting that would meet my needs.
They were helpful, informative, and consistently kept a positive attitude. Six days later, the lights were delivered, and 8 days later my bathroom, with lights, is finished! Many, many thanks to David, Roxie, and Samaria at Tazz Lighting! I highly recommend them!

Martin and team are top notch! They designed the lighting for our new/expanded hair salon, RINSE Salon from the very beginning. From the design process, to picking out products to the final outcome they were and are a 5 Star company. Martin, the owner, is with you every step of the way. He is amazing. The lighting at our salon is PERFECT. The best lighting for a salon in San Diego in my opinion. Showing true hair color. If you are looking for a professional lighting company for your business, home (indoor/outdoor) please give Tazz Lighting a serious consideration. Mike Rinse Salon

The team at Tazz lighting guided me through the confusing process of selecting lights and meeting budgets and deadlines every step of the way which I appreciated. I re-ordered higher quality replacements for some of my lights and took a 50% re-stockign fee hit on my return, then the replacement lights had a 1 month delay beyond the 6 week order time, which wasn't communicated until they were already a week late, which I did not appreciate at all. Some great service, some poor service.

Their lighting design skills are great but customer service is abominable. If you're not a large commercial customer, you'll be ignored after the sale. Not at all what was promised during the consultation and design phases. I had to beg for responses and support every step of the way. Pricing is fine but I'd have paid double for a lighting design company that followed through.

My family and I picked this company to redo our outdoor lighting system. Since we have a large home we needed a large number of lights. We wanted everything new, since the previous system wasn't working properly and it was so old. At this point they came to my house and I asked them to give me a full estimate for all the work that needed to be done.
A few days later I got an incomplete estimate, and emailed them to send me complete estimate. They send me a new estimate which they claimed was the full estimate it was for a little over 13,000. Then they came again to meet with us and show us where the outdoor lights were going to go. At this point they told us the estimate didn't include the labor, at which point we had already asked them at least 3 times to make sure that everything including labor should be included.
We were a bit annoyed but we agreed on them to do the work. At this point the estimate was a little over 13,000 dollars, after adding the labor it was close to 17,000. We talked to them and sign a contract and agreed to pay 50% deposit and the rest at the end of the work. A few days latter we transferred half of the 17,000 and asked them the date in which the labor would begin.
The day after we paid the deposit, they asked us to pay for the full amount. We didn't understand why, and we called Martin and one of the other people we were dealing with, as well as we replied to Lyndsey over email, explaining that we had agreed to pay 50% deposit and the rest after the work was done. Martin called be back and said to me that we didn't have to pay the full other half, but we had to pay the rest of the parts (again a different story yet again).
They refused to do the work until we paid the parts in full, and they said that it was ok to just pay half the labor. We called the company again and the Roxy who was the person that talked to my family and I told us that we were right, when we asked her to put this in writing she refused saying that she needed to check with her boss and that she didn't want to get in trouble.
After arguing with them we agreed to pay the full amount of the parts, so we transferred an additional 6,000 dollars, at this point we had paid for most of the work. We would have usually cancelled the work at this point, because we thought this was sketchy, but we had no choice because we had booked a ticked for a family friend to come and supervise the installation, since it was such a high investment.
They knew about this, because we had coordinated the date of his arrival to the date in which the project would start. The project that was supposed to last 5 days, and he had booked his trip for 7 days. At my friend's arrival, we called them and asked them when they would come the next day, to which they replied that they wouldn't be coming for a few days since they didn't have an engineer to supervise the installation and not all the lights had arrived.
We called them and told them this was unacceptable, and that they would start the installation of what they did had. After 2 days or arguing and they finally showed up. Since they were late we were forced to change our family friend ticket, its been two weeks now and they are still not done. On top of that they refused to remove the old lights, saying that that is not included in the labor, and that if we wanted that we needed to pay extra.
A day after that they also told us that if we wanted an additional switch it would be 500, we were a bit upset because we had told them this before, but we agreed to pay this, two days later it was 670. This is one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever worked with. I will not only never work with them again but after their installation is completed I will be putting a complaint with the BBB.
They do not communicate between them and different people in the company tell you different things. Not only that but they do not take responsibility for their mistakes, and are rude and defensive when you point it out to them. They are expensive and so not worth it. Before we gave them the deposit they were charming and nice, but as soon as we gave them half the money their true colors started to show. I hardly ever bother writing negative reviews so far I have only done 2 or 3 in my whole life. Please don't hire them.

For the last several years I have used TAZZ lighting for both my specialty lighting products and for design consultation. Justin has been a key component to my customers satisfaction and my ability to create really great designs for kitchens and whole house remodels for my customers. Justin is great to collaborate with on customer projects that require unique touches.
And each of my kitchen designs feature TAZZ lighting LEDs customized for each customer - wow. I appreciate their customer service, prompt material delivery, and expertise. You've got my business and referrals.

We recently completed our home remodel. I worked with Justin Strouse on selecting the light fixtures and mirrors throughout our entire home. Justin was a breath of fresh air! He was consultative, professional and inspired! He took the time to help me bring my vision for each room of our house to life. Justin is a wealth of knowledge and every single item he helped me select tied in perfectly with the rest of the house!
Our remodel took nine months. Out of all the people I worked with throughout this process Justin was by far the most fun to work with! He has a great sense humor! His taste in home design is impeccable! Thank you for being a visionary Justin!: We love our new home!

This is my first review on Yelp but it is truly merited. In many ways, Justin Strousse exceeded my expectations both in terms of his expertise, knowledge, and generosity in sharing his ideas. I can definitely recommend that you have him come out to your home and only wish I had contacted him much earlier in my remodel process.
