Mobile Illumination

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Their sales/administrative/management/service departments do not communicate, they operate in a rogue fashion, not scheduling repairs in a timely manner, asking for payment on a work order before the work is performed. Showing up unannounced, charging my card for substandard repairs that should have been corrected without charge.

We contacted Mobile Illumination to install lighting on our tree in our backyard. After negotiating a price (paid in cash) that worked for us, your salesperson, Oscar Sosa managed the team during the installation. It was clearly understood that as the tree grows, the lighting strands would need to be adjusted. After about one year, a part of the lower trunk stopped lighting.

I called Mobile Illumination to schedule a service call, and was told that I would have to pay a service charge upfront of $325.00 in order to get my work order scheduled. I found this odd as it was not apparent exactly what the scope of work would be, but I agreed to pay this. After I paid the service fee upfront, I then called at least 4 times to get on the schedule.

Finally getting scheduled, Mobile Illumination sent a worker out to troubleshoot the issue with the tree. I asked that he address the area that wasn't lighting and to also take a look at the trunk to see if the strands needed to be loosened. He did not have the correct strand color with him and had to come back. He did return and addressed the lower area that was not working.

One day after the "repair" a larger part of the tree didn't work. Again, I had to call over three times to get this addressed as I was charged, and the work again, was substandard and the issue not corrected. Mobile Illumination was not proactive in addressing the issue and in addition, did not contact me to schedule the repair. This past weekend, and to our surprise, a worker just showed up in our backyard, without prior notification.

My daughter happened to be home and called me so I could communicate with the technician. I asked him why he just showed up and why I had not been notified. His response was, "I had a list of jobs to take care of and you were on the list." I was not informed that there was going to be an additional charge, I assumed that he was correcting the prior substandard work that the last technician performed.

In addition to the mismanagement of my job, a charge came through on my credit card last night for $721.53. This charge was not authorized. Mobile Illumination was not authorized to maintain my credit card information on file.

Used them last year but their response time is horrible. I've attempted to contact them this year multiple times and still nothing. Amazing they're even in business. $$$ not worth the money

I just got work done by this company and it was a pleasure to work with. Rob was my lights designer and he did an incredible job. My house looks amazing with the new lights. Rob did everything and anything to make this project an amazing experience for my family. I will be doing more work with them. Price is very reasonable for the work they do. 5 Stars all the way.

Worst experience we have ever had with any contractor both in terms of performance and customer service! We paid in full for all new landscape lighting and then discovered several problems with the lighting that Mobile Illumination had installed, both major and minor. In addition, our credit card was charged in full without our authorization before the job was completed.

Despite the fact that we reached out to Mobile Illumination multiple times via phone and email to fix the problems, MI refused to take responsibility for any of the issues brought to their attention including inoperative lights, loose wires, and outlets not finished to code. In order to make all the new lights operative and complete the job to code, we had to call in a different electrical contractor at our additional expense to correct MI's shoddy work. Clearly a miserable experience that MI has repeated with quite a few customers if you read all the Yelp reviews. Would never recommend this company.

I only write reviews if a company really deserves it, impressing me enough to stop my busy day to let people know, "stop looking and call these guys!" I emailed Mobile Illumination and received a pretty quick reply to set up an appointment to get a bid on outdoor lighting. I asked if they could come in the morning at 8:30? The reply was, "10am is the earliest".

I didn't get right back to them, till about 8:30am the next morning, asking if they could come at 10am. No reply. I then asked if they could come later in the day. Again. no response. I emailed again and mentioned I can find another lighting company if they are too busy. Again, no response. It's unbelievable that business is that good they would just ignore a potentially big job and not even give someone a courtesy call back to try and set up an appointment. To me, this isn't a company who wants or needs business.

I can not say enough good things about this company! Jesse is very talented at designing outdoor lighting. We have permanent outdoor lighting that makes our large yard into a wonderland. Nathan keeps his word on appointments and charges and very good on follow through. We have been extremely pleased at every level.

I was having issues with my outdoor sound system. I called Nathan and asked for help. He scheduled an appointment for me and his technician, Jesse called me the morning of to let me know his time of arrival. They worked quickly and resolved the issue. Thanks for helping me out!

Nice internet site. Responsive in selling me a package. Problem was with the follow thru and operational follow up. Hung my Holiday lights mostly on one circuit. Overloaded the circuit, combined with the rain, and our Holiday lights were out most of the season. They actually came back once and set it back up the same way. When I finally got a call from the supervisor, who promised to get back to me, he tried to put the blame on me.

This is a service organization without service. They billed me in advance and proved to be the Scrooge of the Holiday season. I would never recommend this company to anyone! Big disappointment to my family and grandkids. Lots of money, no value, I'll look in the future for a company that understands lifetime value of repeat customers.

Mobile Illumination is a wonderful company that had great customer service, intelligent and creative techs, and made sure all the events I've worked with them on were to the clients likings. They're great to run shows or just add to take on some of the jurisdiction. 5 out of 5 stars for sure.

The best lighting place I've had! I use them for landscape lighting and Christmas lighting! The were so fast and the customer service is amazing! Highly recommend them!

Been a customer of MI for years now. They make my twin girls faces light up as much as my house during the holidays. Very precise and professional. I have also been smart enough to use them for school fundraiser decor. They've transformed an ordinary ballroom into a raging 80s party. Only days before the Memorial for Chester Bennington of Linkin Park at the Hollywood Bowl, the Band wanted to transform the venue with hundreds of thousands lights in the trees all around the venue in the spirit of their song "One More Light." Mobile Illumination scrambled to execute a truly amazing tribute to a beautiful person with a beautiful heart. Their professionalism and care to this occasion will never be forgotten. Thank you.

I have been using Mobile Illumination for many years now, mostly for Holiday lighting. Most recently they installed permanent backyard lighting on several trees for an event! They stole the show and my yard looks gorgeous every evening! They are lovely to work with and Kaytia is a fantastic designer and was able to help me stay on budget. If there was ever an issue (due to rain, etc), she always had someone come out immediately to handle. Their items are of the highest quality which explains for the slightly higher cost.

2017 Had many years of wonderful service with this company (as shown in my original post), but was compelled to update our review after what was a terrible experience. Normally I would not post such a thing however the work, service and overall lack of care for us as a customer was appalling. The young lady in the office was incredibly rude after calling and attempting to correct their billing error. Was then given a general manger who was equally as disingenuous.

Then had to call countless times just to get lights fixed, only to have to wait multiple days. Not sure what has happened, but will be hoping they can't correct it. 2016 As an estate manager and personal assistant, promptness and attention to the finer things is important to me and my client. From start to finish I was very impressed with this company. Receptionist was courteous and our designer Dan was wonderful to deal with. We are not an easy account to deal with and their patience was noted. Strong recommendation and welcome to contact for referral.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR LIGHTS THEY DO NOT FOLLOW THROUGH ON THEIR CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT. This was our THIRD YEAR doing lights with Mobile Illumination and paying over 5000$ for lights that other people pay less than half that for. A part of the reason you pay so much is that they are supposed to send someone to fix your lights immediately if they go out.

I called over 4 Times and spoke to Noelle who is extremely rude and flippant. NO ONE EVER CAME OUT AND FIXED MY LIGHTS! Frank the supposed general manager was just as rude and said he would call me back, he never did. All through Christmas my lights were out. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY DO NOT APPRECIATE YOUR BUSINESS OR YOUR LOYALTY.

Do not order from here if you expect customer service AFTER they've taken your money. They are very nice and responsive at first, but once you pay if something goes wrong with your lights you are out of luck. And that's after I paid over 3k for Christmas lights.

This company is LEGIT! I used to run a Xmas lighting business on the side. Six years ago, the residents of my neighborhood in Downtown LA wanted to decorate our street for the holidays and they asked if I could do it. I knew it was going to be a larger project, one that I couldn't do myself, so I searched multiple companies to help me get the job done.

I chose Mobile Illumination and never looked back. We are going on our 6th year working with them for lighting up our street in the Arts District in Downtown LA on Industrial St. They are extremely professional, passionate on what they do, and stay within budget. The owner, Chad, is such a great guy and runs a smooth operation with his family. They offer pretty much anything and everything you need to decorate your house, business (big or small), or neighborhood.

Take a look at their website and see the amazing designs they do. You will be surprised by how many places they decorate the holidays that you visit regularly. No matter how large or small your budget is, if you need your house or your business decorated then hire this company. It is worth it! Your holidays will be that much better. No one compares! Problems happen with Christmas lights while installing and while they are up and you need a company that can solve them. You need reliable and professional people and you will find them here. I referred MI to my best client, Patron Tequila, to decorate the Patron owner's yacht for the Newport Beach Boat Parade. They knocked it out of the park. Also worked with Chad on his team as they transformed the Playboy Mansion into a sparkling magical adult wonderland. They are super talented and have the best attitudes in town!

From start to finish 5 stars! I had the pleasure of working with Dan Borgstrom at Mobile Illumination he is the Senior Design Manager. He came to our house for an estimate. He was so wonderful work with! He knew exactly what we were looking for with the decor for the party! He was able to stick with my budget and create a purple wonderland! When his team that came to the house to set up they were extremely professional, friendly and did such excellent work!

The house was a magical full of purple and Christmas lights and purple washes. We used them for a 60th birthday fairy tale party! I would highly recommend this company whenever you have a celebration or just for beautiful Christmas lighting. Every time I called the office for assistance they were on point. Last winter/spring during my 2nd floor addition - I reached out to Mobile Illuminations to get some advice on what type of electrical outlets I should install under my eaves for future Xmas lights. They were so helpful and willing to help guide me even though I was not a customer. That impressed me.so I gave them a call a few weeks ago and contracted them to install lights along all my eaves.

Now that the work is complete I wanted to write a review and let others know. This company is the real deal and there prices are reasonable for the professionalism and quality that you get!

Courteous and professional. Their guys came to the house, offered lots of options, showed us pictures and quoted a price. Well worth it - they decorated the house and tree and even came back to replace a few bulbs a couple weeks later. Best part was they pickup and cleaned up after New Year!

I have had Halloween lighting and Christmas lighting installed by Mobile Illumination for several years now. They are always professional and do a beautiful job. Whenever there has been an issue, I simply call them and someone is out right away to fix it - without charging extra! Great service and would highly recommend!

Mobile Illumination talks any and all hassle out of decorating your home. Our house looks incredible and the entire neighborhood is asking who did it! The entire process from booking the appointment, getting the estimate and light installation was seamless. Also, we had a light bulb go out and they immediately replaced it!
