We needed four ceiling fans and four special sconces. Carla helped us find the right fans for each room - matching not only decor but the square and cubic footage. The sconces had special size requirements and Carla worked with us to find a great match for size and appearance. Supply chain issues made for a long delivery schedule on the light fixtures- but Carla proactively checked with the manufacturer and kept us informed. They arrived exactly when she said they would. Have purchased from Light Brothers before and again enjoyed an A+ experience.

I have no experience with you but am looking for pendant lights and chandelier over table in same area, so want them to match each other. I am interested in something with black, no glass and would like a longated light over the table. I hope you can help as I have been looking for some time. My counter is large and white with gray vein. The table is of wood. I have black & gray accents in all white open living area. You came highly recommended to me.

Went in for a new guest bath light. Had list & pictures in hand & was ready to shop. They were busy, but, after the 2 younger ladies were finished they looked at me and went in the back room. I sat for 30/40 minutes waiting for one of the 2 older ladies, who were busy, to help me. And, while I was waiting, one of the younger ladies came out from the back, grabbed a pen from her desk, looked at me & still walked off.
After the sweet older lady finished up with her clients, she did help me. She was very nice, but I probably won't be spending any more time or $ in this store. Whoever owns this shop, please, you need to train your younger staff to not be rude, look potential clients up & down then walk off.

I have purchased in the past. One time, I received a call that the fixture was in. I went to the store only to be told it was not in. The next day I received a call that the fixture was in and was in while I was at the store. A second trip to pick up a fixture. No one apologized for the inconvenience to me. Another time, I emailed a link for a fixture I was interested in to an employee with whom I was working. She replied, stating she was busy and would look into it the following week. That was seven months ago. Still no response. Hortons in LaGrange now gets my business.

You know how, when something goes wrong, you always expect the worst? It didn't happen! In fact my experience with The Light Brothers was exceptionally pleasant. I ordered an expensive ceiling fan through Amazon and the order was filled by The Light Brothers. After the initial installation the fan proved to be ever so slightly defective - enough to annoy me but probably not even noticeable to anyone else.
Sue at The Light Brothers was really nice and provided access to the head tech guy who was also very helpful suggesting possible fixes for the problem. Unfortunately the attempts to remedy the defect were not successful. When I contacted The Light Brothers again I fully expected to run into a wall of protest. BUT they simply sent me a replacement fan! How great is that? Thanks Light Brothers. You made my day.

I went into The Light Brothers on Thursday, May 5 with my 2 kids. I told my children at length not to touch anything. I was the only customer in the store and there were 3 men sitting at a table in the showroom having a meeting. Kathy came right over to help me and was very kind, knowledgeable and polite. The men were sitting where I needed to see the ceiling fans I was looking for, but I looked around them anyhow.
I was so pleased my children were keeping their hands off the lighting products when a woman named Maureen came over to me to say my children were talking too loudly near the men having their meeting and I needed to keep them away from that side of the store. I find it really unfortunate that the men don't have a better meeting place other than the showroom, when a paying customer has to feel like an inconvenience to look at the product.
At best, if they have to meet there, I would expect that you would not make the only customer in the store feel like an interference. Perhaps I didn't look like much with two kids in tow and not dressed extravagantly. This time I was looking for one ceiling fan, but I would like to replace almost all the lighting in my substantially-sized house.
I took my business to Horton's in La Grange who were so nice to me and my children, even when my son started to cry they did not treat me like a disturbance. In fact they went and got him a miniature bottle of water and comforted him. Of course they were able to order the same fan and meet or beat The Light Brother's price. It's a shame Maureen treated me and my children the way she did when Kathy was such a nice, helpful person.

I went in today to replace a pendant light that I was sure was broken. Maureen took care of me. The first helpful thing she did was tell me that I did not have to order the entire pendant, I only need the hardware, which saved me $$$, since my shades were discontinued and I would have to replace all of them. The next thing she noticed was some arching on the fixture.
This led her to tell me to take it back home and try it in a different spot making sure the connections were good. I did and the light worked! Good as new without costing me a dime! They may not have the best showroom, but if you know what you want, go in and ask them to order it for you. That's what I will be doing from now on! Maureen went above and beyond in helping me today!

Kathy (receptionist?) went ABOVE AND BEYOND in helping me today! I LOVE the Light Brothers. I had a light fixture that was discontinued and to change the lightbulbs it honestly took an engineer to figure it out. AND a special tool that of course I didn't have because I'm in a rental property right now. (who keeps a TOOL to change a light bulb?! ehem. thus=discontinued lights.) anyhoo- she said they just happened to have the tool in stock and she sent it to me NO HASSLE.
Seriously above and beyond- what great customer service! Seems like this company is really invested in long term clients and not just making a sale. If you want GREAT customer friendly and helpful long-term service then this is the place! 5 stars all the way!

I loved this store! I am doing some work throughout my house and have been looking on line for weeks at different fixtures and styles. It's so hard to really get a feel for the size and look on line so I went to The Light Brothers. Kathy came up to me within about 2 minutes and was fantastic. She gave me a lot of guidance and advice on the size and type lights I should look for including a great idea for my upstairs hallway.
I was a little nervous about the price compared to what it would be on line. I was thrilled that she came back with close to if not slightly less expensive prices than many lights I found on Build.com. I'm definitely going back when I redo my bathrooms and bedroom.

After shopping this store twice and heading straight to another store with the same type of name in Schaumburg I am pleased with both the selection, height of the light fixtures and prices. Each time I was helped by two different females who were happy to check stock. They carry a nice assortment of traditional, transitional and modern pieces. The lights are hung at a height where you can see the full structure of the fixture.
At 5'10" I did not feel as though I was in any danger, actually quite the opposite. The "other store" hangs theirs so high it's overwhelming. I almost ran into a couple of people since the average person is below my eye level I couldn't see both. The prices are fabulous. I've shopped online and at their competitors and they have quality pieces priced appropriately. Plus, I am buying local which means if I have a problem I am able to deal with a person face to face. You get what you get from online sites. Don't hesitate to shop here.

I stopped in once before, but was turned off my the outdated, pretty cheesy fixtures. You can find nicer stuff on amazon. My 1 star rating comes because I dragged in an antique chandelier (and my 4 kids, both requiring careful handling) to the store for a repair. Checked their site before driving in to ensure they do repairs. Yes, definitely listed on their site.
I walked in the door, chandelier and kiddos in tow, only to be greeted by an Office Space - looking guy, "yeaahhh, um, are you looking for a repair? We don't do that any more."?!? I told him he should update his site, and he shrugged. Awesome customer service. Definitely would never be back.

I've shopped here a handful of times in the last year. I've had all positive experiences shopping here. We've worked with Lesli the most, she is wonderful. The other associates there are all really friendly and helpful, too. One of the things that I like about this place is that there are not any pushy sales people. If you just want to walk in and take a look around, they are fine with that!
They are also really good at helping you find exactly what you're looking for, and also knowing what is trendy, if that's what you are going for (which I needed help with, since I don't always know what the current trends are.)

After my last review of The Light Brothers, I received a very professional message from the owner. He told me that he had made some changes to the business, for the better. Though I had all ready purchased fixtures, I promised that the next time I was in the market, that I would come back and take a peek. Do I want to lose Yelp credibility? Heck no! So, I stopped buy to see some of their bathroom fixtures, but they were closed. Did I care that passers by were treated to me peering into the darkened store? Heck no!
They had some nice Tiffany style pieces in their window display which I really liked, with decent prices. But I also found decent savings when I hit their on-line store to look at the bathroom fixtures available. There were several with great prices; but were only available in the brushed nickel. A pretty ample inventory on-line for all rooms of your house, if you ask me.
In the end, I found 2 really pretty sconces that will go nicely; also on sale. Not everyone uses a Yelp review to their advantage; but I have to hand it to The Light Brothers for staying on top of their game with tasteful and helpful changes. Thanks!

Beautiful choices in many price points! I have been to almost every place that sells lights in dupahe and cook county and I have to say I loved that it isn't too large and not too small.they also have books if you need to see more options. I have visited three times in one week before making my purchase and all three times I had questions answered and not trying to be too pushy.
My last visit I actually made my decision 30 minutes before closing time and all my choices were floor models. In 10 minutes I had 2 gentlemen taking down fixtures and putting them into my car! I just read the other two reviews and I have to say.my experience was opposite and filled with customer service! Lesley wrote down everything I looked at and when I went back she was not there the next person was able to help me right away! I need more lighting I will be back and I love my purchases! They even sold me the light bulbs and gave me new ones in place of what they had in there!

After searching fruitlessly for a replacement switch for an Emerson ceiling fan, I called Light Brothers. They tracked down the replacement switch I needed and found the most economical way to get the switch. They are ethical and honest. I would definitely do business with them again and recommend them

I purchased 5 large bathroom light fixtures from The Light Brothers last summer. I basically looked online and then bought from them. Their prices were exactly the same as online prices. Because it was a fairly large purchase, they discounted my order by the amount that sales tax would be.plus you don't have to pay for shipping; so it's a better deal than online.
The person who helped me made the selection process very easy and I worked with her again recently on the purchase of some hall light fixtures. Very knowledgeable people and pleasant to work with.

I was looking for new light fixtures for my house and was not sure where to go, but I knew that I did not want to go to the big box stores. I am in Real Estate and asked my clients where they go for their lighting needs. A few of them mention The Light Brothers in Lombard. I went there and when I walked in, I was greeted by one of the sales associates that suggested that I browse their selection and to call her if I had any questions.
I thought her approach was great because I hate to be hounded when I am looking and not sure what I want. Their selection is amazing and it is organized by type of fixtures (floor lamps in one area, hanging Tiffany, bathroom, etc). This made it very easy to compare the same style/type of fixtures. Once I had question, the sales associate was there to answer my question and after hearing what I was looking for directed me to a style I did not consider, but found out it was a style that my wife and I loved.
They also told me that if needed, that they could install the fixture (for an additional charge). I thought it was a great store that solved all my lighting needs and will recommend them to clients and friends.
