Do not buy! I ordered 12 lanterns from Genie House, believing I would receive a wonderful, made in the US product. What I received was an appalling example of poor craftsmanship, despite these lanterns costing over $800 apiece. The lanterns were poorly constructed, and looked as though a 16 year old had completed them in shop class. The dark copper look, could best be described as scratched, with an uneven finish.
I love how people like to use the terms "antiquing" and "rustic" as a way to defend shoddy workmanship. These lanterns were to be hung from 12 foot ceilings, so the interior of the roofs were just as visible as the exterior of the lantern (known at time of purchase) and the roofs were a combination of black, rust, silver, with horrible seams on all four sides of the steeple.
When I called to indicate how dissatisfied I was with the product, they simply told my sales person that this what their lanterns look like. To add further insult to injury, two of the lanterns were horribly warped and broken when shipped, and rather than sending two new ones, they simply refurbished the old ones. The packaging was a joke of shredded newspaper, and the glass on one of the "new" lanterns was broken when the second shipment was received.
If I had it to do over again, I would absolutely never have purchased from this company! I only wish I could return them and start fresh with a different company that actually values good craftsmanship. If you are considering purchasing one of your products, I would strongly encourage you to buy from another source.
