Awesome selection, and super helpful staff. "Can we see that light with this other bulb in it?". No problem. Another customer was cycling through bulb wattage to find the one he wanted, which they accommodated with no problem. This is what you get with an in person retail store that you don't get when ordering online. We will definitely be buying it light fixtures from them, they justify their slightly higher prices with this kind of value they bring.

I was shocked when I walked into Brose Electric and made the mistake of asking the woman behind the desk a simple question. She barked at me and was quite rude. This was unexpected. The last time I shopped here (about 7 years ago) I spent a small fortune updating my new home. At that time, I was treated exquisitely. I don't know if it's a new manager or new owner.
But man has the help gone downhill. I now know why they constantly have a sign out front stating hiring sales help. Who on earth would work here? What a shame because they do have beautiful merchandise. Do yourself a favor and go to Michigan chandelier in Novi. They are a little pricier but they treat you like royalty. Avoid this establishment unless you like being treated poorly.

I have purchased so many things from here. Outdoor lights, outdoor garage lights, lamps, mirrors, candles, all different types of replacement bulbs. Service is friendly. And they have a big selection. You'll find everything here from reasonably priced too very expensive depending on what you're looking for and how much you want to spend.

I took my floor lamp to Brose Electrical, to have the cord replaced, on Friday afternoon, I got a call Saturday morning telling my lamp was ready. I was so surprised, that it was ready. The cost was lower than the other places I called. Everyone was very nice and their showroom was very nice, and had the most beautiful chandeliers. I would recommend Brose Electrical for your repairs.

I was hoping to buy several light fixtures during my visit to Brose but after walking around the store for 45 minutes (only customer in the building) and not a single staff spoke to me, just watched me as if I didn't belong! Then as other couples walked in they were greated and helped immediately! Talk about a snotty business.

I left work early, drove through rush-hour just to make it there before they closed. I was there 20 minutes before closing time. A sales person followed me around everywhere reminding me at 4 different times that they closed five minutes to the hour. I reminded her that the sign on their door said they closed on the hour not five minutes before the hour.

For 30 years, I've shopped for my fixtures and bulbs at Brose! The gentleman there is quite helpful and will acknowledge you when you come in! Today I had an issue with the last batch of Satco Globe lights and wanted to bring it to their attention! Tall brunette woman could not be bothered with my concerns and was rude in front of other customers! I have never seen her before and will not take my business back to her EVER! Definitely has been a change here!

The lightning is beautiful and the supply everything! However, once they sell to you forget customer service! Called back for a few questions and was basically treated like. "You bought it, we have your $$$, don't bother us with questions." I was treated so horrible on the phone. Their customer service is poor for any follow up. I was actually calling to see if they had another light in stock! Just lost my $$$$

Like many other posters have stated. My wife and I went into this store on multiple occasions only to be shunned by sales staff. What's the deal? We walked in multiple times looking for lighting fixtures to not have a single person approach us for help? Get some people with some personality or new staff.

I stopped in to ask some general questions about an existing light fixture we have in our home. The tall, auburn hair woman behind the counter was horribly rude and acted like I was a total idiot every time I asked a question. She was more interested in telling the other woman behind the counter about some wedding story than helping me. She acted like she was in high school but my guess is she was in her mid 50s. The store manager witnessed our interactions and didn't say anything. I'd rather go to Home Depot or another store than go back to this place.

Stay away from this place. We have purchased thousands of dollars of lighting from this place over the years. Recently my wife purchased multiple chandeliers and lighting fixtures that were special order. When they arrived, we were told they fixtures were checked and are all great. A few weeks later we take them completely out of the box (Keep in mind they are large) and one had a significant discoloration on it that looks like mold that will not clean off. Told by Brose staff its not their problem since we left the store. Not only are they rude, they have no interest in having satisfied clients. Even our electrician said this is common with Brose. Will NEVER buy anything from there again!

I've purchased a few fixtures here and I do try to get past having to wait so long to either get a person to help or wait to pay, the employees really are trying their best in that regard, and they do know their lighting, but. I was on my way home from work rushing to get there before they close at six and got stuck in bumper to bumper traffic right along their road, but I finally made it there at 5:55 p.m.
I rushed up to the door and I saw an older gentleman lock the door. He definitely saw me. He then turned his back and walked away. I again looked at my watch and it was definitely five minutes to six, so, I loudly knocked on the door as the man was walking away. He absolutely heard me but just didn't care. I immediately called and unfortunately nobody bother to even answer the door. That really does burn me when businesses close before their posted time. I won't go back.

Stuck in 1970 it seems, reciept is handwritten and calculator strip of paper. Does it matter, well when the warranty is 10yr and you need proof of purchase, its nice when the place you buy it from has an electronic record. Then they insist on opening the box to examine the light fixture. The worker, despite the box being labelled on all sides but the bottom, opens the bottom pulls out the styrofoam and the light and components all spill out. he quickly repacked and tried to put it back in upside down. folds the flaps instead of taping it back up and hands it to me upside down. Had to get light here only place that had it in stock. But last time I'll visit. Found another shop in Novi with lower prices and the staff is a Ray of sunshine, much more friendly.

The manager there I didn't get her name because she wouldn't give it to me, but she was very rude to me and she wouldn't back a warranty on a lamp that I got fixed there. She wanted $25 to fix it, I took the lamp to Michigan Chandelier in Novi, got it fixed for $10 with a life time warranty. Very nice people that works there. I will never go back to Brose for as long as I live. Michigan Chandelier will be my new place. No stars for Brose, after getting it fixed I brought the bad part back to Brose and all she could say to me was ( what are you doing back here and to get out of her store)

Went to purchase 2 lights they had in stock. Waited at the desk for a salesman for a long time. When I asked for the manager to complain about not being waited on she was very rude so I left. I will order online as you can get them cheaper online anyway. I usually try to support local stores but will never step in this one again. The managers name is Jennifer. Avoid her if you go there.

They did OK with the new light fixtures. But when they didn't have a second new fixture of the pendant model I wanted, I accepted a display model. I thought I would at least get a discount on a used fixture, but no. It was the same price as a new one. The icing on the cake, however, was that the full price display model was missing both of the shorter suspension rods - it only had the longer rods, which I couldn't use. Fortunately, a complete kit includes two long and two short extension rods.
I was able to use a leftover part from the complete kit to make up the missing part from the display model. If you buy a display model, check to make sure you're getting all the parts you need - Brose sure doesn't.

If I were able to use no stars, that would be my rating. This was certainly not the experience I've had in the past when I frequented the Allen Park location where the employees knew their business and cared about the customer. I took a traditional Stiffel lamp in, hoping to order a silk shade appropriate for the style and size of the lamp. Instead, I was rudely directed to a SMALL display of inappropriate and cheap-looking shades. She invited me to carry my heavy brass lamp to the location and help myself. I helped myself right out the door and will never return.

My wife and I recently worked with Linda to replace all the lights in our house. We had a great experience with her and all the staff there, they checked every box for damage and really helped us select the perfect fixtures for each area of our house. We couldn't be happier with the service and the products.

I purchased a $700 hanging light, that was going to need some extensions on the down rods. Brose ordered everything. When my electrician went to install it, he said that they had given me the wrong rods. I went back to Brose and told them this, they found the right rods and said sorry about that. I asked for compensation because the electrician doesn't care who made the mistake, he's charging me for taking down the old fixture and re hanging the old fixture, due to not having the right parts. Brose said "they are not responsible for their mistakes", even though they opened the box and made "sure everything was right".,I will never deal with them again. I can't believe that ANY COMPANY WOULDN'T STAND BEHIND THEIR ERRORS.

If you need to be insulted, harassed, screamed at, ordered to leave her store (from said to be manager) Brose is the PLACE to go! I agree with Elena S on 12/1/15--I also tried to have a conversation with the manager but her response to me was also filled with hand gestures -hyper voice. an attitude of self righteousness, rage, and bullying me with insult after insult.
She walked me out of the store calling me a elderly person and hoped I did not have grandchildren because she could not deal with them either. My suggestion to resolve my order from December of 2015 was to give me the items off the floor-she raised her voice at me as to how stupid that would be-this is retail lady I could sell this item today-so wait for your order to come in and leave my store-you have yelled at my sales people-never talked to them -ever-and there were no shoppers is the store-

If only I could give 0 stars. I've just left Brose. There were 3 customers in the store including myself. None of us were being helped. The 2 associates visible on the floor were busy talking with each other about customers. I wasn't even acknowledged upon entering the store or at anytime while looking. I needed 2 sconces, a chandelier and actually a mirror. I'll take my business else where.

Brose is a magical place that makes all your lighting worries disappear and your dreams come true! Seriously, I said that to a friend after my experience! So I have been here before, I purchased lighting for my bathroom a year or two ago (that was more stylish and more reasonably priced than the big-box stores!). I purchased a cute little white chandelier at a boutique in Royal Oak, meant to be hung in my walk in closet.
Well lo and behold I am having difficulties hanging it; the door would not close. You should know everything is beautiful in Brose Electrical. When you walk in you want everything, it's like a feast for the eyes. Anyways, when I brought the chandelier in to Brose, not one but two men helped me immediately and knew exactly what I needed. They know what they are talking about here people!
It was so refreshing compared to a Lowe's or a Home Depot lighting department! After they worked there magic, it took 1/2 the time to install it than it did before I went there! Plus the conversation I had with fellow patrons while the two men worked was pleasant. Excellent customer service and products.
