We had an excellent experience working with Graham! He went out of his way to help us find exactly what we needed. We shopped during the tent sale so we received an amazing discount on all the lighting that we purchased! They really had a great variety and selection. You can definitely find some unique lighting and house decor here. Make sure you ask for Graham, he makes it fun to shop for lighting!

Amended Review: What seemed like almost immediately after I posted this review, I received a phone call from Jennifer, the owner. She was concerned about my experience and wanted to make it better. Her outreach was appreciated. I felt like she heard my frustrations and wanted to make it better, not just for me, but for future customers. After our conversation, Jennifer was very quick to put ammends into place. Ultimately, we're happy with our new light, and the serviceman, Brian was very pleasant and ensured the fixture was installed to my liking - thanks, Brian!
Initial Review: I've recently had a few experiences with The Light Center. The first being that the closet light installed in my new build home died. The LIght Center did their part (under warranty) to order a new light fixture and install it. I also purchased a light fixture during their sale for my dining room. While the buying experience was fine, I noticed a disconnect between sales & service.
The sales guy was quick to pawn me off to service and say "you gotta call Jean to set up an installation (which I paid for!), or she might call you next week." Needless to say, the installation was set up. However, I've had 3 installation appointments rescheduled because they can't take into account location of appointments and drive time. Dealing with the service component of The Light Center isn't worth your mental energy or time. If you have the patience of a saint, go for it. Otherwise, if you chose to give your business to The Light Center, know that you've been forewarned.

15 Apr 2021: Evidently, my wife and I had the exact experience that Michael Carter was subject to 4 months ago. We had just finished a walk around the lake and had some errands to run. We were looking for dining room and foyer lights for our $750K home. Quality lights, not pretentious, and preferably made in the United States. We were immediately dubbed "Tier 3" by every single employee--there were 5 employees. Not even a greeting, not one. A customer is a customer. Taking our business elsewhere. Don't bother, Jennifer.

Looking to replace all the lights in our home, including exterior. Was hoping to support a small local business and not have to drive all over Northern Colorado trying to accomplish our task. Walked around for a good 5 minutes before we got "a someone will be with you." So we wait a bit more, after another 10 minutes or so we gave up and left. To be fair they never said how quickly someone would be with us, so maybe if we had waited another 20 minutes they might find some time to maybe see what we were interested in. Definitely felt like they prequalified us and determined that we weren't "serious" buyers or worth their time.

Shopping for light fixtures to spruce up my 15 year old house. Looked at other online stores, but try to shop local to help in these difficult times for business. Went to the website for the store, made a "wish list", printed it and headed to the store. The good: Have a lot of interesting items in the showroom, and (as the only customer there on a Saturday morning) was approached by someone offering to help if needed, etc.
The bad: After browsing the store, approached the previous sales person, showed her my print off of things I had on my "wish list", none of which were in the store. The reply was "We don't carry tier 3 items in the store. Sorry." and that was it. Not, "Oh I like that one too. We don't have it in the store, but we can order it. Here's our return policy if it's not exactly as you were expecting." I'm not fitting a million dollar home with $2,000 chandeliers, I'm sprucing up my $500K home a bit.
Once I became a "Tier 3" customer in her eyes, it didn't seem like there was much desire to help at all. No effort to show me anything that was in the store that was similar, no offer to help with an online order, look through catalogues, etc. She saw the prices on my wish list and apparently I didn't measure up. I guess I'll buy online after all.

I have worked on 3 homes with the light center. The service-- from picking out lights to install is unmatched in Fort Collins. I have worked with Jeanne now on two houses and her patience, kindness, frankness and taste have really helped guide me to creating a home that has wow and lasting quality. Even if Jeanne was not in the store when i came in, all the staff were helpful and willing to guide in the right direction.
I had issues with lights that were installed and just did not give the vibe i was hoping for, they worked it out and helped me recover with adjustments. Brian, who does install, is also fantastic-- moving lights around to various locations, until we got just the right look! Grateful for the people and service they provide

I just shopped and placed my order online with Clay so our remodel project can continue to move forward during these trying times! We started a remodel project before the shutdown and made it into the showroom for just a short visit but thankfully connected with Clay who guided us online to find just what we needed. Plus since they are now selling furniture and accent decor I found a gorgeous hammered copper accent table to add to the finished project! Thanks to everyone for finding ways to keep NOCO's lights on!

My family and I went into the Light Center on Saturday afternoon, January 11, 2020. No one acknowledged us and we encountered 3 different employees. Not a smile or a nod. Nothing. Since it was a Saturday, there were a few customers in the store but not so many that we deserved to be passed over. We even thought, surely this can't be? We circled the store TWICE.
Unfortunately for this store, you just lost a ton of business. We are building a new home in Timnath and were there to shop for multiple rooms. We believe in customer service as well as first impressions and this store failed us in both areas. We will not be going back.

These folks at The Light Center are truly passionate about helping us as customers discover the dramatic impact that good lighting can have on getting that very positive feeling when entering our home or office. I am also most impressed by how knowledgeable they are about their products and lighting in general.

Lighting certainly makes the home. The Light Center turned our house into a home. Jennifer, the owner, was instrumental in our remodel. She helped us choose the right fixtures for each space (not just what would technically and specially work, but selected stunning pieces that elevated each space from a design standpoint). They helped us work with dimmers for each room (explained that it is like music - you want different volumes for different moods).
The customer service we received was exceptional. And the very best part: this is a family-owned and run business, which we love. Supporting local businesses and giving business to passionate, hard working and philanthropic members of our community is one of the most important things we can do as consumers. Thank you Jennifer and the entire Light Center team!

I purchased a ceiling fan from the Light Center about a year and a half ago. Last week the fan and the light stopped working. I called the Light Center and they sent a tech out and he had it fixed in 10 minutes. Seems the controller needed to be reprogrammed. I never would have been able to figure that out. Great customer service!

We went into the light center to purchase a chandelier because we have made several purchases there in the past and like the quality of the products. However on our most recent visit we were completely ignored by the staff. There were 4-5 staff and one other customer. They all seemed to be engaged with their phone/computer or having conversations with each other.
No one even acknowledged we were there. This was not like our previous experience so hoping it was just an off day. Our next stop was Lamps Plus they were very helpful and we ended up making our purchase there.

We bought a Tech Lighting low-voltage "Kable" light kit for our basement bar project. Not only was the whole kit unbelievably expensive ($1400), but it was also ugly as hell. Looked like something a redneck would have hanging in his living room for "decoration". Either way, the electricians hooked it all up. The LEDs kept blinking for starters, which the store said was a cable gauge issue. Nope.
Then they replaced the transformer, which got the lights working, at least. Less than a week later after we started using the basement, the LEDs started going out one at a time, with one of the heads heating up and almost smoking from an apparent short. So we spent $1400 on a crappy bar light from these people. No return policy? Yeah, well I don't plan on ever returning. Do yourself a favor and don't go there at all.

The man helping me was very rude and derogatory, to the point that I was approached in the parking lot by another customer who couldn't believe that he was speaking to me that way. This other customer approached me to see if I was alright, and express her shock. Would not give them a dollar after this experience

Worst customer service! Overpriced. They carry the same things you can find online for half the price and less hassle. For $85 you can have them come to your house for a light consultation. You could get the same advice for FREE from experts on Houzz. Their employee told me that they wouldn't be able to get back to me for several weeks because they had personal issues they needed to deal with. And, if I didn't hear back, to contact them. WHAT? What kind of customer service is that? Of course, I never heard back and it's been several months. Don't waist your time or money with this establishment.

I need 4 ceiling fans. My first thought was Lowe's. But then I figured I should try a specialty store for better customer service (there are a number of factors to consider, some guidance would be nice) I just walked 3 slow laps around the Light Center floor. Lots of employees, nobody acknowledged me. So much for paying extra for good service. I'm off to Lowe's. Same level of service (not much) with much lower prices.

You would think when I'm ready, willing and able to spend money on an entirely new lighting system for my kitchen that someone would have the decency to call me back to get things rolling. I've been waiting for a week. *tick tock* I'm sick of crappy service and apparently this place epitomizes it. People, let me know if you have recommendations on a place that cares about its customers.

We've had The Light Center do three different light plans for extensive remodel projects and they all turned out great. Norris helped us pick out great products to fit the plan. One time I left a light bulb I bought and Norris dropped it off at my house. That's service! Huge selection, competitive prices, great service, knowledgeable staff.shop local instead of Home Depot. It's like going to the Cupboard instead of Bed, Bath, Beyond. And they're in Midtown Fort Collins!

BEWARE! The Light Center is staffed by truly awful people. My wife shopped the Light Center for a unique light fixture she planned to give me for Christmas. When I opened the (sealed!) box Christmas morning, the box had only styrofoam! WTF?! Why would a sealed box be missing the product? THEN, when we go to get our purchase ($160) they were straight jerks about it. Rude doesn't begin to describe their attitude. Apology? Nope.
It was such an awkward discussion (bordering on a dispute). They could have easily made this right by making the process simple. A mea culpa wouldn't have been too much to ask for either. Instead, they spoke to us like we were children. Nice holiday attitude. They basically sold us an empty box and didn't care in the slightest. Swindlers! Scoundrels! Miscreants! Never ever ever will we shop here again. Avoid these jerks at all costs.
