These guys are amazing! And they do a great job, for a reasonable price. If you have a troublesome lamp, or if you need a special shade, or are looking for something different, give these guys a call. Note that this is NOT an upscale / ritzy shopping experience. They DO have nice lamps and shades. But the emphasis is on the tried and true repair shop for upscale or older lamps that need a repair, or for something that has a special look and charm that you won't find anywhere else.

I cannot recommend this establishment more highly. I have a nice chandelier that needed repair - or so I thought. I took it in to Artisan Lamp in Fairfax and left it with Cyrus. After a short time Cyrus let me know the light was functioning properly. When I picked it up the charge for the checking the light was $0. I persisted and Cyrus refused to take any payment for the checkup.
He then carried the chandelier to my car. I brought the light home, installed it and it's working fine. It is refreshing to know that there are businesses out there such as this. Artisan Lamp is a small business. Cyrus is all about customer service and providing that service at a fair price. If you have a need for this type of work look no further - Artisan Lamp is the place to go.

Artisan Lamp provides the skilled, and knowledgeable repairs and refurbishment of quality lighting fixtures of all kinds. Their warehouse/showroom is chock full of chandeliers, globes, shades and decorative glass for lighting. In addition they have some beautiful European antiques and collectibles on display.

My movers broke four arms of my Schonbek chandelier. I was heartbroken since I had had it for 25 yrs. well artisan lamps fixed it. It is truly as good as new. They also placed it carefully in my car for me so I could get it home safely. They were professional, kind and I think the price was very reasonable AND they Did it in a half hour so I wouldn't have to make the drive twice. Thanks, Artisan Lamp!

A very nice old world kind of store, I brought in a lamp and had the bulb insert repaired and they did it in twenty minutes and I did not want a three way so they made it for a one way 60 watt bulb. The next day I brought in a second one. It was $20.00 per lamp and well worth it. I was able to look at the lovely vintage lamps and chandeliers they had while I was waiting.
I recommend that one go on a week day and by 9:30 to not have to deal with parking in Cleveland Park which can be a real problem. This is a great place and I would recommend it to anyone. The owners are nice and very friendly.

It is like a fantasy land for people into cool lighting. I went in for a repair, and they took care of me quickly and were very friendly. While they repaired my antique, midcentury tension pole lamp, I checked out the amazing chandeliers and lamps. I wish I had a blank check (and a bigger place) to take all of their inventory home.

This morning, my electrician showed me that the wiring of my wall sconce was dangerous and strongly urged me to get it fixed. He recommended a lamp repair shop, but after checking YELP reviews, I decided to try Artisan Lamp. Thank you, YELP! The kind gentleman at Artisan had his craftsmen fix it while I waited. Within twenty-five minutes, I was headed home with a repaired lamp. I accomplished it in one trip instead of two and the cost was very reasonable--amazing, gracious service.

Contrary to older yelp posts, we found Artisan staff exceedingly helpful and their products reasonably priced. Called ahead looking for a specific style of lamp shade; they said they had a small selection of same. When we arrived, they promptly pulled down the options they had, grabbed a bulb, politely suffered through our ruminating on which one we preferred as we had them switch back and forth between the shades, AND, ground down the bases of two new standard harps to fit the saddle/harp holder braces of our lamps. Shades were half the price of comparable shades at the store on river road (whose haughty service I found consistent with the negative reviews given in yelp); harps less than the hardware store price. A very pleasant experience--recommend them to others.

This is not a review about the store. This is a review about the store's policy of spamming. STOP SPAMMING PEOPLE. Artisan Lamps continues to send spam advertisements to 3 of my email addresses that they must have found from Houzz, Pinterest, or some other architecture and design website. I'm in a different state, never purchased anything from them, never requested to be on a mailing list. Even after selecting "unsubscribe from mailing list" they continue to spam me.

Really nice man helped me today with my lamp that had a stripped out knob (so, therefore it could not be turned on, until he gave me a new knob) and also he spliced an electrical wire for me that ran a Christmas inflatable. I really appreciate the immediate service on two kind of random and little jobs! Thank you!

I went in looking for several replacement glass lamp shades for three cast iron floor lamps that I have been refinishing. The two older men were unbelievably rude to me after I waited about ten minutes for someone to help me, then told they do not sell any of the thousands of stock shades on display.when I asked where I could expect to find any - he told me online but that they are really hard to find.
Not once did they offer to help repair my lamps or even ask if I needed help. Zero customer service. Also, the most ridiculously overpriced and cheaply refinished lamps for sale strewn about on some tacky pedestals. This place is a joke!

I bought my ten-year old Pottery Barn lamp in for repairs on Friday. I had it back in 24 hours and it was not only repaired - and for a pittance compared to the cost of a new lamp - it was improved. The dimmer had failed. They replaced it with one that could be detached from the lamp; now I can plug the lamp directly into an outlet or plug it into the new dimmer and let that be the connection to the outlet. They treated my $150 lamp like it was a pricey item from their own stock. If I am ever in the market for really high end lamps, I know where I will shop.
