I brought a lamp in to be fixed. The wonderful lady that owns the shop said she thought she could fix it right then and there. She did so just by bending a metal piece so that it would stand upright. I asked her what I owed her, and she said, "Nothing, I just used my muscles to bend it back in shape." she was so sweet. By the way they had a. Rey nice collection of lamps. I'll go back there in a heartbeat.

OMG, Amy and all her girls are perfect. The work they do is spot on. They are exceptionally patient and true artists in the job if lightning your home. They know the right things to do i.e. advised I not purchase a shade and in the Hope's that it might or might not work. Simply suggested my bringing the lamps to them to be fitted. They are beautiful tailors for my lamps. I love love love this place

This was the first time to this store.the moment I entered the store the lady asked me that I was there a day before. So rude in talking.i was looking for some particular color for which she denied. Then she gave a box and said to look which was again very rude.no customer service as if I was asking for free.i will never go back.

Absolutely rude - zero customer service. I was originally excited to bring my antique lamps in to be re-wired (and I have a bunch of them) and they seemed annoyed that I brought some projects. I was told that one would be "very expensive" as to say they didn't want to do the work. I asked for my one table lamp to be re-wired and we could talk about my other fixture.
I was told it would take no more than two weeks to do a re-wire. After two weeks passed, I called to check on the progress and I was told that they hadn't even started it yet because they "had too many things to work on before mine." So, then don't say it will take no longer than two weeks! I then told them that I didn't want them to do anything and that I would pick them both up the next day because I was unhappy with their lack of service - the one woman seemed thrilled that I was taking it home and to be losing the business.
The next day, I got a phone call where they left a message telling me that they magically had time to fix my lamp and it was done when I got there - even though I said I wanted to take it home. Sadly, I will never be back here. And as an avid lamp collector, they lost some very good business. Be very careful, don't listen to their time-frames and be prepared for absolutely horrid customer service.

This place is extremely overpriced! I bought a lamp shade and it did not look right. I work 1 hour away from the store and it was hard making it there to return the item. On 10/8, I made it at 5 minutes to close. The sales person was EXTREMELY rude telling me they close in 5 minutes; like I was a complete bother to her. She took the lamp shade back and gave me a receipt for the return which I signed for and she put through. The return was not credited to my card!

First time I went in, I had a great experience. The woman who waited on me was very helpful, made great suggestions, and I bought a small lampshade and bulb for my home made lamp. I even referred their services to one of my friends. This time I went back to buy another lampshade and bulb for a similar lamp I made. A different woman waited on me. She was rude, very degrading, and belligerent.
Someone needs to explain to her that she is there to help the customer, not degrade them. She needs to know that customer service is necessary to stay in business. I will NOT be going back here ever again. If I could rate this a zero, I would.

Drove all the way from Oak Park to this place with a trapezoidal-shaped, hard lampshade for a modern lamp that needed replacing. Very unhelpful woman at the counter insisted that the lampshade I wanted was no longer made. She tried to convince me to buy a pagoda-shaped lampshade that looked like it was for a fine porcelain table lamp, even though I must have told her three times I did not want that lampshade!
I figured I couldn't be the only person on Earth that needed a certain kind of lampshade, and that no one else on Earth bought a pole lamp like mine, and so no one ever needed a lampshade like the one I needed, and no one sold those any more. On the way out of the shop, there were two examples of the type of "hard" lampshade I needed but the woman told me, we don't carry those lamps any more, and I can't sell the lampshades separately.
They were sizes that wouldn't have worked for my lamp anyway. So, I went home and went online and found this place online: JACK OF ALL SHADES - Albertville, Alabama. I should have looked online first but I was too ignorant about who knows their lampshades. Hooray for them and me, they are custom-making the lampshade I need.

I would suggest that if you need a lampshade or any service or product this store offers you go elsewhere. I bought 2 lamp shades at an inflated price and when opening them at home I discovered the seam of one was opened. I brought the shade back and was told that they would order a replacement. I was told it would be 3-4 weeks. After 5 weeks I had to call to find ouit where it was.
I was told they would call the manufacturer and let me know. I never recieved a call. After another 2 weeks I called again and was told that they had done nothing because "the frame was bent". It defies logic that 1 of 2 was dammaged but I was told that I was out of luck. This is a very dishonest merchant who wil not honor their word. I have turned this over to my Credit Card Company and will not stop until I am reimbursed or this Charade of a company goes out of business.

So I went in here with a lamp that wasn't working. And they refused to look into the problem even after I told them what was happening, because it was a Halogen they blamed the bulb. When I told them I already replaced the bulb they blamed that I might have handled the bulb with bare hands. After some googling I located the part I believed was the cause of the lamp not working. $15 at an electrical supply store. $2 for new caps for the lines.
And then 10 min of work on my part. Guess what? The Lamp is fixed, no thanks to this business who refused to listen to me or even open the lamp to check it out. 1 Star, they saved me money by making me fix it myself. But useless by refusing to help look into the cause or make a recommendation other than replacing the lamp.
