Nicholas J. Cardello, Sr. began his career in the industry as an electrical contractor but soon decided to open up his own business as an electrical distributor. In 1947, with $327, a 1941 Chevrolet and a living room which doubled as a counter and warehouse, Cardello Electric was created. Looking for a way to better serve his customers, Nick was the first electrical wholesaler in the area that realized the need for branch locations.
Though appointments aren't required, they are a great way to ensure your project gets the attention it deserves. Our expertly trained showroom staff will will work with you to determine the scope of your plans, paying special consideration to personal taste, budget, room dimensions, and more. Honestly, the customer service here is so awful. I'd really hate to leave such a low rating for a small business during the hard times of the pandemic, but I just don't think Cardello wants any business. I was looking for replacement shades for a chandelier. When we called to ask if they had any, they told us they have a lot of options and could even order something if they didn't have it in stock at the store. Great!
So when we came in to see their selection, we asked an older gentleman where they were. Ha, he said they had too many to show us. What? Ok, could you direct us to where they are? Nope, you're better off going online. This man had absolutely no interest in helping. Not to mention, his mask wasn't covering his nose. Completely frustrated by that exchange, I immediately turned around and left the store. If you don't want my business then you're not getting it, sorry.

BEWARE of CARDELLO's HIDDEN RESTOCKING FEE. They ripped me for $150. We ordered a 8 inch pendant lighting on Friday. On Monday, when I called them to change the order to 5 inch they said their store is closed and so i told them to keep on hold before the pendant is shipped. On Tuesday we stopped at their store, since they were busy with their customers they told us to come next day.
While we were driving on the road they called us back. When we reached the store strange, the customer service couldn't find the order. We had to wait several hours to get an answer. After a while she found the order under payment section. The customer service didn't even know her job. Most horrible customer service. We almost wasted 1hour 30 minutes.
They told us the pendant light is already shipped but never mentioned about $150 restocking fee. Next day when my husband went to return the unopened box they charged him $150 for restocking fee. What the heck is restocking fee? Why is this not disclosed to customers before purchasing? Is this the way to rip off customers during pendamic time? Why is this company's policy not checked by authorities.
My question to CONSUMER REPORT - WHY. ARE THESE COMPANIES ALLOWED TO RIP OFF CUSTOMERS? IS THERE ANY LAWS TO PROTECT CUTOMERS? DO I NEED TO GO TO COURT TO GET MY HARD EARNED $150 BACK. I am not going to keep quiet. This horrible ripping company needs to be boardcasted in every site. We went to the Cranberry location to find a ceiling fan for our dining room. Barb took such great care of us and took the extra time to help us find a custom fit for our space. She showed us many options while keeping in mind we needed something more budget friendly. I would highly recommend patronizing Cardellos. The customer service we were shown is something you just won't get going to any of the retail giants like Lowe's or Home Depot. Thank you again Barb!

I don't even believe they even deserve a one star first off! We purchased all of our lights from this place when we bought our new house. The one bedroom ceiling fan light quit working after a few months. Called the store and Cathy told us we needed an electrician to verify it was indeed not working. Paid him to come out. Waited over 2 months to get it fixed only to have the guys cardellos sent tell me they don't have the right part to fix it!
I said why didn't they get us a whole new light fixture. They stated they usually don't do that. I am beyond furious and have got nothing but run around from this place since the initial phone call back on April 5. The customer service sucks and for the prices you pay here you should expect more than what we've have received! I will not be back to this place and will never recommend them

Service and selection is good. Unfortunately, I purchased a floor sample and all the hardware wasn't supplied with the light. I had to return and had difficulty finding the parts. I may have to go back for a third time if the parts don't match the light fixture and have the store order the parts. They tried their best to find pieces and gave me extra pieces, I hope what I have works?

I renovated my kitchen and all bathrooms recently, and used Cardello for the lighting. I worked with Pam Veiock and she has always been helpful, not pushy, and responsive in-person, on phone, and through email. Lighting was discounted for buying 5+ pieces, and matched pricing on a few electrical items i found online cheaper. All products have been in good condition, and returns were easy when I ended up having one too many pendents after my general contractor's electricians said i didn't need as much lighting as I had previously been told by a design/build firm. Only negative would be that the website might be able to be improved a bit with its search engine. I'd use again.

I worked with Chris on our kitchen. He was so helpful, and really understood the look I was trying to get. He really knows his lighting, and was so patient with me. When I put a ceiling on a price range, he made numerous suggestions that fit my budget. He followed up on anything that was back ordered. And the showroom.well its just breathtaking. The prices, yeah they are higher than the big box stores, but you aren't buying junk either. You get what you pay for.

Spent almost $300.00 on a light for our dining room 3 years ago. It shorted out and a wire burnt, took it back, they order a new socket, but would not repair it, worried something would happen, I am not a electrician, asked if the whole part could be order, they said no they don't carry the light or the manufacturer anymore. Asked why or how this could happen, answer halogen bulbs can get hot and this could happen. Why not tell the consumer that? Left with my broken 300 dollar light. Will never go back and will tell everyone.

Second time buying lighting for my home from Cardello, first experience was a 4 star, so I returned to have a really bad experience this time. Henkley lights purchased and both lights damaged, reordered and both lights damaged, third time one light good and other was damaged. One of the saleswoman, not the one I had worked with, tried to tell me this was "normal" for brushed nickel. she did not not know my husband worked producing brushed nickel and the products were damaged. looked like someone took a pen across the light. IN the end I took the LEAST damaged light and asked for a discount, was told the price I paid was already discounted but I did not pay to get damaged lighting.
No one even tried to call Henkley and talk to them and try to have the lights inspected before shipping. The customer service was awful in trying to get the customer a good product, undamaged. NO further discount given and they think this is good business? Will not recommend and will not go back to them ever again.
