No one greeted me walking into the showroom. Albeit the associates were with customers but if you can look up long enough to make eye contact you can speak a brief greeting. Selection of lighting is great, overwhelming to be honest. I recommend you visit the website and have ideas before you visit the showroom for sure.

This is the best company in town to buy lights from. I bought close to 7000 dollars in fixtures from them. They will do anything to make director customer is happy. Bryan in distribution is a dream yo work with and very accommodating. Taylor at Brentwood store is very hood too. I am thrilled with their people and products.

Metro Lighting is my go to place for light fixtures. I've had excellent experiences with both the Brentwood and Manchester locations. My travels today took me to the Brentwood location in search of bedroom ceiling fans. Metro Lighting has an abundance of options, so it can be a bit overwhelming, but it's a specialty lighting store, so it's their niche to have lighting options above what the big box stores offer.
Upon arrival, I had time to look around without being pounced on by a sales rep, that's a huge bonus for me. After a few minutes I was greeted by a sales rep (I completely missed their name), but they were able to get me exactly what I was looking for. I had area measurements for the rooms, but I didn't have height measurements, this sales rep was absolutely wonderfully patient as I called home to get this information.
After I provided the critical room specifications, and style information, I explained my concern with lightbulbs (at one point there was a trend in home decor to have nonstandard bulbs in ceiling fans). The salesperson knew exactly what I was talking about, and we even had a chuckle over it. With the sales reps help, I was able to pick out four fans (competitively priced by the way), and they had them in stock! Thanks to having assistance, I was able to have an efficient shopping experience.

The never ending adventures of owning a home kept us busy this weekend with a trip to Metro Lighting in Brentwood. As we continue to slowly make our home feel like our own space, we decided to update a lighting fixture in our living room and add a floor lamp. Since we feel we have "graduated" from IKEA, we knew we needed to go somewhere with a bigger selection.
Typically I avoid the Brentwood shopping complex where Metro Lighting is located. IT IS INSANE! Come on. Who thought it would be a good idea to put a Trader Joe's across from a Target. Apparently someone who doesn't drive, or is just incredibly sadistic. So pro tip when visiting Metro Lighting. Since the showroom is situated at the south end of the complex, you can access it from streets behind the building to avoid the chaos of the parking lot.
The selection at Metro Lighting is impressive. They feature so many styles and so many selections within those styles. I love how they have the lights grouped by style throughout the store. It helps you navigate their showroom based on your personal tastes. If you you are like me you're going to gravitate to the gold, sparkly fixtures! And they have plenty.
I do get a little bit of anxiety when shopping at Metro Lighting. Since there are SO many lights to choose from it is hard to visualize the lights in your own space. The other reason I get anxiety from this store is because of the finality of their sales. If you get the light home and it doesn't fit your aesthetic, whelp. You gotta make it work.
They don't have the best return policy. We purchased a floor lamp that causes bulbs to burn out quickly and they wouldn't take it back even though it seemed there was an issue with the product. For the prices they charge, I wish there was a little more flexibility after you purchase fixtures.

My first visit was ok but I kept telling the Sales person I didn't think it would give off enough light. I was correct. So at this point it was too late to return the ceiling fan with lights. So I bought a second one. The second one I purchased from a sales rep who was just working there did the summer while attending Missouri state abs here dad worked at metro lighting, she was adorable, but the 2nd ceiling light sucks too. I want to go back but the sales people ruined it for me. I would rather buy the same grands online than go through metro

No service after the sale at all. I purchased a ceiling fan and after a year and a half I went back to ask about a broken wall switch. I was passed from the front of the store to the back electrical side. Then they tried to pass me back to the front again. No one could answer any questions about anything to do with the fan or switch or even look up my purchase.
Then they took my name and number and told me they would call me back but never did. So if you need a fixture and think you will get parts or service from Metro Lighting after the sale forget it. You might as well pay a lot less elsewhere.

I have shopped at Metro Lighting on three different occasions and all three have had a good outcome. I have been looking for simple, replacement fixtures and a fan. Each experience has been very positive. Twice I was assisted by Daniel L at the desk. He was very helpful and patient in finding what I needed. Great selection too.

The worst experience EVER! Took us six months to get our light and it still was not correct. Then when we picked it up because it was paid for in full and didn't have a receipt they had no clue if it was paid for or not and argued with us because They had nothing on file. The entire management staff and staff at the Brentwood location is extremely unprofessional. Would not recommend.

I DO NOT recommend METRO LIGHTING for any of your lighting needs. Dealing with METRO LIGHTING has been a nightmare and hope no one has to experience what I have had to. I placed an order 5 months ago with them, and they took my money for the order and I still don't have what I ordered. I called on 4 different occasions! The first call, I was told my order was lost, and that they would be sending a new one.
Second call, I was told that the order wasn't lost, that it hadn't arrived yet. The last two times, I was promised both times to get a return call from a manager in regards to my order and neither time, did I receive a call. I am now sitting here without what I ordered, the money I paid for the order, and can't get answer to its current status or a refund. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE in my opinion, and hope that I can find someplace else to try and get the piece that I need.

Our builder forced us to go with Metro lighting. Not only were they overpriced, but their materials were horrid and shoddy. The glass chimneys on the bathroom light fixture let go from the fixture due to the glue giving out. This then caused the bulb to dislocate from the fixture. Not something you want to happen over a marble countertop. I contacted Metro lighting and after giving me a weeks worth of runaround, Where I had to call multiple times, and did not receive any information back even after emailing photos and calling, even after I was promised I would receive a message back, they said maybe you should replace the fixture. Horrid service. horrid product. do not patronize!

My wife and I stopped in here looking for lights for our new house. The staff was friendly, and there is a large selection. Most of the choices are quite eclectic, but there is something for everyone at the store. Despite the selection, we didn't end up buying anything. The prices were just very high. We just don't need a $5k light no matter how amazing it looks.

About six years ago when I was getting ready to rehab my house, I stopped in here. They have absolutely beautiful lighting. Some very different pieces. But nobody could be bothered waiting on me. Everybody was clustered at the desk area in the center of the store. I walked out. I happened to take a little different route to Whole Foods today that took me right by Metro lighting.
At least this time somebody did acknowledge my presence and direct me to the fan room. She said she'd come check on me but never did. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she forgot. I did go through some catalogs and found some things I liked. While I don't necessarily want somebody hovering over me, I also don't like having to chase after salespeople. Again, they all seemed to hang out at the desk in the center of the store. I'm giving it two stars instead of one star for the fact that I was acknowledged.

Metro Lighting in Brentwood has the best selection of lighting I've ever seen! Also the salesperson, Sheri R. is AMAZING! She was so knowledgeable of every fixture. She was able to tell me what finishes every light came in just off the top of her head. The service, selection and price at Metro make it the best lighting store in STL! I will be back!

I recently bought sconces for a bathroom remodel. I was waited on by Liz. She knows her stuff and was able to make recommendations from a catalog when I didn't see what I wanted. I was in a hurry for delivery, she even called me with UPS numbers do I could track. The next day. Sadly they arrived broken. She searched their stockroom and found replacements for glass parts that were broken. If I had a retail store if want her working for me! A gem!

I know what you may be thinking, it's too expensive to shop here. Well, I suggest you pick some special lights to splurge on like maybe the dining room or entry area. We bought a house and went bargain shopping and found good selections at Lowe's but we picked two rooms to consider splurging and we have not regretted it. Liz at Metro Lighting in Brentwood was super. She helped us by respecting our budget and worked with photos we showed her on our home remodel. Do it. Pick one or two places to splurge and the go see Liz.

Six weeks I waited for lamps to come in - after being told they would arrive in 2 or 3 weeks. Finally they arrive - with no on/off switch on a $400 lamp (really). So service, product and customer service substandard. I have never spent my money and been treated like they were doing me favor. Now u do know that there are other lighting establishments in the greater St Louis Area.

I had never been to metro lighting's showroom in Brentwood until recently, and I wasn't expecting such a spectacular showroom! What I did expect was a small selection of fixtures and a salesperson to show me other choices from a catalog. I went there today with a notebook filled with information and details as to the type of lighting I wanted and questions to ask. I was prepared to make a substantial purchase. I had on a t-shirt and jeans and a beanie hat. I think the way I was dressed may have given the staff the impression that I wasn't as serious of a shopper as the elderly ladies in the store with designer purses.
I went to the front desk and told the receptionist what I was looking for. She directed me to a back corner of the store. Lots of staff but not one person asked if they could help me as I wandered around for 30 minutes. So I left.
